On 3 April, Vitali Alekseenok took part in the Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award. After rehearsals with the œnm. œsterreichisches ensemble fuer neue musik and the Mozarteum Orchestra, he was chosen by a jury chaired by conductor Manfred Honeck to advance to the finals and thus make his debut with his own concert at the Salzburg Festival on 5 August 2023.
Starting in 2023, Vitali Alekseenok was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, Italy. After the successful opening of the 22/23 symphony season, he was immediately invited to work with this theatre and orchestra in the coming seasons on a regular basis.
